Let God Use You During Your Storm
What if the most powerful moment God could use us is not after our storms have passed, but right in the middle of them? That is the striking question at the heart of this message, drawn from the account in Matthew 14 where Peter steps out of the boat and walks on water toward Jesus. The story is familiar, but the angle here cuts deeper than we might expect. We tend to pray for calm seas and smooth sailing, hoping God will settle everything down before we take a step of faith. But Jesus did not call Peter to the water after the wind died down. He called him in the midst of it. That reframing changes everything. God is not waiting for our circumstances to stabilize before He puts something on our hearts to do. He is calling us now, in the uncertainty, in the transition, in the grief, in the confusion. The storm is not a reason to wait. It may be the very reason He is speaking. This is a message about expectancy, availability, and the kind of faith that moves its feet before it can see the bottom.
