Fireproof
What does it mean to be truly fireproof in a world that seems intent on testing our faith at every turn? This message takes us deep into one of the most dramatic stories in all of Scripture, the account of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel chapter 3, and asks us to consider whether we are prepared to stand firm when the heat is turned up in our own lives. The three Hebrew men faced a literal furnace, but the spiritual truth embedded in their story is unmistakably relevant to us today. When we refuse to bow to the pressures of culture, public opinion, or fear, we do not face that fire alone. The fourth figure walking in the flames alongside them is a reminder that Jesus meets us precisely in the places where we feel most threatened and most vulnerable. The lesson is not simply that God rescues us from difficulty, but that He walks through it with us, and that what we carry out on the other side, freedom, testimony, and even promotion, is greater than what we carried in.
