Competition Vs. Compassion

Are you more competitive than you think? 🤔

This Sunday, we explored Matthew 7 and Jesus's radical teaching on judgment. Here's the truth: It can be easy to see other people's sin, but be blind to our own. We'd rather point out the speck in someone else's eye while carrying a telephone pole in our own.

Jesus calls us to something different - COMPASSION over COMPETITION.

The word compassion isn't just a sympathetic tone or "bless your heart." True biblical compassion means caring enough to DO SOMETHING. It's active, not passive.

Here's the challenge: What if we became SOLUTION-BASED instead of CRITICISM-BASED? What if we focused on helping rather than judging? What if we worked together instead of competing against each other?

God is more interested in our cooperation and compassion than our competitiveness. When we lock arms as a church family and choose to build each other up rather than tear each other down, that's when real transformation happens.

Remember: You can't help to remove a speck from someone else's eye when you've got a log in your own. First, deal with your critical spirit. Then you'll see clearly to help others.

Be solution-based in your marriage, your friendships, your workplace, and your church. Fight that competitive, critical spirit through the power of the Holy Spirit.
