Practicing Evangelism
This powerful message challenges us to move beyond simply knowing about evangelism to actually practicing it in our daily lives. Drawing from Matthew 9:37-38, we're reminded that the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few—and we are called to be those laborers. The teaching provides a practical six-step framework for sharing our faith: pray for the lost, prepare our personal testimony, share God's story of the cross, listen to those who are spiritually curious, affirm that difficult questions are okay, and be good representatives for Christ. What makes this message particularly compelling is the recognition that 82% of adults today are open to spiritual matters, with 74% wanting to grow spiritually—we're living in a time of unprecedented opportunity. The story from Mark 9 about the father crying out 'I believe, help my unbelief' resonates deeply with where many people are today. They're not rejecting God outright; they're wrestling with doubts and questions. Our role isn't to judge or dismiss them, but to come alongside them with love, patience, and the truth of God's Word. We're reminded that we share the gospel not just through our words but through our actions—by being good neighbors, by living as a counterculture that looks different from the world, and by demonstrating the hope we have in Christ. The call is clear: God wants to use each of us right where we are—in our workplaces, neighborhoods, and communities—to be His ambassadors and share the life-changing message that the problem is sin and the answer is Jesus.
