Guard Your Heart
Proverbs 4: 23-27, "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil."
In Pastor Kevin's sermon last week, we explored how renewing our minds and controlling our thoughts are vital to our spiritual growth. Remember:
•Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by renewing your mind (Romans 12:2)
• Be on guard against false teachings and deception (Colossians 2:8)
• Prepare your mind for action and set your hope fully on Christ (1 Peter 1:13)
All of these Scripture verses point us back to Jesus, who tells us to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind (Matthew 22:37). When we do this, resisting temptation and worldly distractions becomes easier.
Join us next week as we continue our 'Small Steps' series and discover how to put these truths into practice. Remember, without Christ we can do nothing, but through Him all things are possible!"
